Pac Bo village – The place President Ho Chi Minh chose to live and work after returning country

The historical cluster of Lenin stream – Pac Bo cave in Cao Bang is a tourist destination that is loved by many tourists near and far. This is the place President Ho Chi Minh chose to live and work after returning home.

52 km north of Cao Bang city is Pac Bo special national relic site in Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province.

Pac Bo – Tay-Nung language means “watershed”, and is the place where President Ho Chi Minh took his first step back to the country after 30 years of searching for a way to save the country.

During the days of living and working here, Uncle Ho’s footprints were everywhere. The stream of Lenin is as clear as a winding silk strip at the foot of the majestic Mack Mountain.

The gentle jade-green stream flowing from Pac Bo upstream is called the Giang stream or Trung stream by the locals.

The cave has an area of ​​80m2, and the entrance of the cave can only fit one person to enter. At the entrance of the cave, there is the inscription 8/2/1941 carved by Uncle Ho’s hand to mark the time when Uncle came here to live.

And why Uncle Ho chose Pac Bo, Cao Bang but not another locality to return to lead the Vietnamese revolutionary movement, was told by Ms. Nong Thi Tra My, the narrator at Pac Bo historical site. : “After 30 years of searching for a way to save the country, at first, he planned to return to the country in 3 directions, the first direction is Lao Cai direction, the second direction is Dong Dang – Lang Son direction and the third direction is Cao Bang direction.

At the end of 1940, the Party Central Committee sent 3 comrades, comrades Phung Chi Kien, Hoang Van Thu, and Dang Van Cat to Cao Bang to check the revolutionary movement abroad to report and welcome Uncle back.

The day after listening to Comrade Hoang Van Thu reporting on the international situation in the country as well as the revolutionary movement in Cao Bang; especially the mountains and forests in Pac Bo; Uncle Ho made a statement: Cao Bang base will open great prospects for our revolution…

And from this important remark, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc decided to choose Pac Bo Cao Bang as the first place to return, directly steering the Vietnamese boat. For Uncle, Pac Bo is convenient for his way forward, convenient for his way back.”

Coming to Pac Bo, visitors can also shop for local products at the stalls of local people. Products imbued with the flavor of the mountainous region of Cao Bang such as banh xeo, shiitake mushrooms, vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, wild vegetables…
