All Indian citizens who want to enter Vietnam on a tourist or business trip must apply for a Vietnamese visa. In order to enter Vietnam, in addition to visas, Indian travelers also need to ensure the following 02 entry conditions:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Vietnam;
- Passport still has at least 02 blank pages.
Vietnam visa procedures for Indians
You can apply for a visa in the following two ways:
- Apply for a Visa at the Vietnamese embassy of the host country
You need to contact the Vietnam Embassy in India (if you are in India) or in a host country (if you are abroad) to apply for a visa before leaving Vietnam. - Apply for a Visa at the airport
For Indian citizens traveling to Vietnam by plane, the easiest and most convenient way to apply for a Vietnam visa is to apply for an airport entry visa (also known as a visa issued at the airport – Visa On Arrival), which means you’ll get on the plane to Vietnam with an approval letter, and get Vietnam visa stamp at the International Airport in Vietnam that you arrive.
For this type of visa, just follow these steps:
- Fill in some basic information in the online visa application form, then pay the service fee
- Receive written permission for entry – visa on arrival letter via email within 2 working days (for tourist visas) or 7 working days (for business visas), or faster with urgent services
- Bring along the visa letter with you when boarding the flight to Vietnam
- Remember to prepare 2 photos size 4x6cm or similar, white background.
- Stamp visa on arrival at Vietnam airport

The aforementioned service fee applies to the normal dispatch processing time of 7 working days. If you want to apply for an emergency visa, you need to pay extra:
