Vietnam Trail Marathon 2021 will be held on January 31, 2021 in Moc Chau, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Vietnam with green tea hills, cherry blossom gardens in full bloom spring – and this is also a great time to host this marathon event.
This is the third race in a series of terrain races by Topas, the organizer of the Vietnam Mountain Marathon, and the Vietnam Jungle Marathon.
Founder and Race Director, David Lloyd, said he chose Moc Chau because he needed an area that would provide a good experience like the other two Topas races, VMM and Vietnam Jungle Marathon (VJM): “We held races in the two most beautiful locations in Vietnam – Sa Pa and Pu Luong, so I had to find a very special place to match: Moc Chau, with flower gardens, trails and beautiful tea hills, which will deliver a great experience for our runners has come to expect. ” Lloyd said.
The running track is the result of a thorough survey across the hills here. We have created a trail that runs through a variety of terrains and landscapes on completely runable tracks.
You will discover the ethnic minority villages hidden in the mountains where cars cannot reach. You will also run through fields of white flowers, green tea hills and orchards. And you will also share the running track with the locals, horses, donkeys, buffaloes, wild boars and many other interesting characters.

DAY 1 – FRIDAY, January 29, 2021: HANOI – MOC CHAU
Welcome to our beautiful capital Hanoi. If you arrive in the morning, you can leave your luggage for free at the meet up location of VTM – Turtle Lake Brewing Company (Address: 105 Quang Khanh, Tay Ho, Hanoi)
8: 30-11: 30: receive information about the registration number of each athlete, the number of hotel rooms and register the bus time to Moc Chau
9: 30-12: 00: The bus departs to take athletes to Moc Chau
- There is an option to take a bus from Noi Bai airport straight to Moc Chau, the bus departs at 13:00 (surcharge $ 15 / person), only for runners with pre-booked.
14: 30-17: 00: Arrive at Moc Chau. Check in at Hotel Muong Thanh Holiday Moc Chau
Athletes who register as individuals will receive a registration number at the VTM fair (EXPO) held at the hotel from 9:00 – 21:00.
18: 00-20: 00: Friday dinner with a nutritious menu to energize athletes
19: 00-21: 00: The Opening Ceremony takes place at the hotel premises
DAY 2 – SATURDAY, 01/30/2021: MAIN EVENT DATE
Time for wheelchair from Muong Thanh Holiday Moc Chau Hotel to take athletes to the starting point:
70km: 3:00 (Departure: 4:00)
42km: 5:45 (Departure: 7:00)
21km: 7:00 (Departure: 8:30)
10km: 9:00 (Departure: 10:30)
Note: Buses leave on time and do not wait for late arrivals.
All distances will finish at the heart-shaped tea hill; Here you can dine and join in welcoming and cheering for your future athletes.
Supplies should bring
You should bring a small bag with a towel, clean clothes and cash. You can leave this item at the start line and pick up at the destination area. You will receive a luggage tag to fill in your personal information and a bib number to wear into this bag.
Cheers
All fans will be picked up at 09:45 am and taken to the destination area – Heart Tea Hill. Here you can take a scenic walk and cheer for the athletes and welcome your loved ones to the finish line.
Awards Ceremony
13:00: Awarding prizes for 10km and 21km
15:00: Award for 42km
17:30: Award for 70km
Car back to Muong Thanh Holiday Moc Chau Hotel
Organizers will have buses taking athletes from the destination. The bus departs at 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00, 19:30, 21:00 and 23:00.
DAY 3 – Sunday, January 31, 2021: MOC CHAU – HANOI
8:00 – 10:00: The bus departs to take the athletes back to Hanoi. Wheelchair when full of guests.
10:00: The last bus departs for the athletes to Hanoi
13: 30-15: 30: Car returns to Hanoi Opera House.
