It can be said that the country of Vietnam stretching in the S shape and nature has given Vietnam a variety of climates. Therefore, the weather in Southern Vietnam is different from Northern Vietnam, and during the rainy season, the dry season in each place is also very different.

In the North, there are 4 distinct seasons: spring (cold and warm) – summer (very hot, with heavy rain) – autumn (very nice + cool) – winter (cold + drizzle). There is no distinct rainy season in the North. Showers with heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon or occasional tropical depression pass through there will be rain for 2-3 days (from May to July or 8). In the autumn, the sun is subdued and the weather is cool, the sky is beautiful. In winter, there are some drizzly days with little rain. Drizzle will last from late winter (December) through Lunar New Year to Feb or March.

In the Central, especially South Central (Da Nang, Nha Trang) and Highland (such as Da Lat), until September – October is the beginning of the rainy season. The rainy season in Southern Vietnam and the Central Highlands have the same characteristics as the morning sun and rain in the afternoon, lasting many days and weeks. Therefore, it is said that the weather in the South is only two seasons: rainy season and dry season. Particularly in the South and the Mekong Delta, the rainy season usually starts from May 5-6 until the Lunar New Year, then again is the hot dry season.
