Vietnam Airlines baggage: The new rules apply from August 2019

Vietnam Airlines baggage: Since August, Vietnam Airlines has changed the number of packages and luggage weight for each ticket class from economy to business.

For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers are allowed to bring one piece weighing no more than 23 kg and the maximum total dimension of 3 dimensions is 158cm. From August 1 to December 31, the airline also offers an additional 23 kg for travelers on Economy Class on Europe, Australia, and New Zealand routes.

Business Class passengers are entitled to a standard of 32 kg per piece on domestic, Southeast Asia, and 2 packages on Northeast Asia, Europe, Oceania and America routes. Special Economy Class passengers can check one piece of baggage (no more than 23 kg), particularly for HanoiHo Chi Minh City routes, one passenger can check one piece up to 32 kg.

For carry-on baggage, passengers can bring one main piece (size 56 x 36 x 23 cm) and an accessory such as handbag, briefcase, backpack, suitcase (size 40 x 30 x 15 cm). The total weight of hand luggage is no more than 12 kg for economy class passengers. Business and Premium Economy passengers are allowed to bring two pieces and one extra piece with a total weight of less than 18 kg.

Passengers with Lotusmiles Gold Card will receive a special offer depending on the class of baggage when they bring their luggage: Titanium and Gold members can bring an additional 23 kg baggage; Platinum class is allowed to bring two additional 23 kg of checked baggage.

In addition to accumulating points through flights to upgrade the Lotusmiles card, customers can join Vietnam Airline’s program in cooperation with partners. Including a “gold card” program for business class return tickets or accumulating 20 flights; “Free titanium card” for passengers who have accumulated 10 flights.
