Tho Xuan Airport is the 22nd port in the network map of Vietnam’s airports. The airport has a very important political, socio-economic, national defense, and security significance in the sustainable development process of Thanh Hoa province as well as the North Central region; contribute to the development of commercial tourism in the locality, increase investment efficiency, and ensure political security in the region.
General Information
Sao Vang airport for the military previously served both civilian flights and was renamed Tho Xuan airport. Located in the North Central region, Tho Xuan airport is an important traffic bridge between Thanh Hoa city and the region with the two ends of the country.
Tho Xuan airport is located in the administrative boundary of Sao Vang town, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province; nearly 40km from Thanh Hoa city, the total planned area is 654.8 ha.
With its role and function as a domestic airport, an airport for common military and civilian use, Tho Xuan airport is planned to grade 4E according to the standard code of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); and is a Class I military airport.
