Son Doong cave
Outside of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, the Lonely Planet editorial team specially chose Son Doong as Vietnam’s natural wonder because it is the largest cave not only in Southeast Asia but also in the world. Son Doong is more than 5 km long, 200 m high, and 150 m wide in many places.
The cave is located in the limestone mountains of the Vietnam-Laos border; discovered by Ho Khanh, a local by accident when avoiding rain in 1991. Today, tourists must book a tour in advance with full physical condition, know how to swim … just discovered Son Doong in a 4-day journey.
Thuy Son
Thuy Son is the largest and most famous mountain in the Marble Mountains; together with the surrounding caves that form the center of ancient Hindu and Buddhist spiritual beliefs.
