Hanoi officially has more pedestrian streets since January 1, 2021

The People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem district said that from the evening of December 25, 2020, the city has tested to expand a series of pedestrian streets, until January 1, 2021, officially deployed.

Accordingly, the pedestrian street space was expanded to the south connecting with the north of Hoan Kiem lake area; including Cau Go, Hang Dau, Hang Be, Hang Bac, Dinh Liet, Gia Ngu, Dao Duy Tu (from Gao Market to O Quan Chuong); O Quan Chuong (in O Quan Chuong street and Hang Dieu – Thanh Ha crossroads area) and Cau Go, Trung Yen and Phat Loc alley.

The People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District also informed that the operating time of the streets was expanded from 7 a.m. to 24 p.m. in winter; and in summer from 18:00 to 24:00, held on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).

Residents of the walking space will be allowed to park their cars for free at the area under Chuong Duong Bridge, or are allowed to drive them in and have to leave their vehicles indoors. For guests entering the pedestrian space, send a vehicle at the check-in points arranged by the district People’s Committee.

Walking space in Hoan Kiem lake area and surrounding areas have been organized to operate with the goal of forming walking habits; community activities and development of commerce, services, tourism, and culture to serve the people; and has become a tourist destination.
