The airport located in Loc Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province is a civil airport combined with the military. Dong Hoi Airport is about 6km from the center of Dong Hoi city to the North and about 300m from National Highway 1A to the East.
Dong Hoi Airport is like many other airports that were founded and built by the French colonialists during the years of defending and colonizing Vietnam. At this time, the airport was only used for military purposes to serve France. During the following years, this runway was damaged and severely damaged by mines and ERW. After that, they were remodeled and continued to be used for military purposes in the period from five by our army to support the southern battlefield.
After the war ended and until August 30, 2004, this airport was approved to be built and re-planned by the group of northern airports. Until May 18, 2008, Dong Hoi Airport was officially put into use for civil purposes.

General information & Infrastructure of Dong Hoi Airport
Currently, the airport is fully equipped with runways, taxiways, aircraft parking lots, and passenger terminals.
- 01 main runway receiving all incoming and outgoing flights, denoted 11/29 with a total length of 2,400 m and a width of 45 m.
- 02 taxiways forming a whole roller system. Specifically, the E1 taxiway is designed to connect the main runway with an apron for military purposes. E2 taxiway is designed to connect the runway directly to the aircraft parking lot for civil purposes. So your flights will use the E2 taxiway.
- 01 quite large aircraft parking lot designed as 2 parking positions with exact dimensions of 118 m x 127 m from west to east.
- 01 passenger terminal is designed in the form of 2 floors. Currently, the exact total floor area that’s quite spacious is 4,282 m2. This airport is designed to receive about 500,000 passengers/year with fully modern equipment.

Taxi
The price for a taxi from Dong Hoi airport to the city center is about 120,000 – 200,000 VND; depending on where you want to go. Airport bus
Currently, at Dong Hoi airport (Quang Binh) there is no bus going to the city center. You can choose a number of bus routes through the airport; such as Line B1 (Dong Hoi – Ba Don), Line B2 (Dong Hoi – Kien Giang), Line B4 (Dong Hoi – Phong Nha). Since the airport is about 1-2 km from the bus point, you can take a motorbike taxi to the bus stop and then catch the bus.
