Mu Cang Chai is a district in Yen Bai Province, located in the west, about 300 km from the center of Hanoi. The district lies under the famous Hoang Lien Son range, about 1000m above sea level.

Come to this place, visitors not only have a chance to enjoy the beauty of the National Spectacular terraces with a total area of 2,500 hectares distributed mainly in 3 communes of Che Cu Nha, La Pan Tan, and Zi Su Phinh.

Which has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism since 2007. This is a creative architectural art from the skillful hands of the Mong people living in this upland land that visitors also have a chance to see the white clouds atop Cao Pha Pass which is also the 4th most beautiful place in the world for pilots flying paragliding.

In addition, visitors can visit the Mong ethnic villages, and discover the culture as well as special customs in the northwestern region with many cultural and folklore values.

 

Best time to travel to Mu Cang Chai

Mu Cang Chai has two beautiful seasons so you can travel here and discover it:

May – June: This is the time when farmers prepare for a new crop.

September – October is the rice harvest season which is also known as “the golden season” of the region, at this time Mu Cang Chai will be bright yellow rice filed, beautiful weather, convenient to visit.

By local bus
